SILLY, SURREAL, SCARY?
Joe Sansone has written what he calls, "A silly book for a serious time." It is a laugh-out-loud, page turner of the first order. From the opening chapter when Barack Obama gets sucked into a toilet bowl at Reverand Wrong's Church of Left Wing Hate, to the climactic moment when the Exalted One gets drop-kicked back into reality by Rush Limbaugh, one finds himself mesmerized, entertained and sometimes frightened by Sansone's story. With apologies to Glenn Beck, this book may be another "fusion of entertainment and enlightenment."
All of the usual suspects from Insane Hussein's campaign and first year in office make an appearance in Sansone's story. There is Biq Queenie, whose "court" is a big TV studio, on a show with huge ratings. There is "Bliss,' the host of "Softball," and yes, there is always something running up and down his leg whenever he gets close to the "Grand High Exalted Mystic Ruler." This is especially true when the ruler puts on his Uncle Sam suit of stars and stripes, points his finger at the TV audience and says: YOU WANT ME! Note: The last person to hold the title of GHEMR was Morris Fink, the sewer working friend of The Honeymooner's Ed Norton, and a fellow member of the Royal Order of Raccoons, (ergo, the head coon.) The author has a devious method of describing fictional events and hijinks, while simultaneously giving one pause, forcing the reader to think logically about what is happening in the country we all love. (well, maybe not ALL of us.) In similar fashion to another great literary achievement, Joyce's Finnegan's Wake, The book ends where it starts- back in the toilet bowl inside Rev. Wrong's racist church. (Which, by the way, is exactly where the Obama presidency is heading.) When you think about all of the events, arising from the first year of Insane Hussein's presidency, that fill a book of political satire, you have to wonder what else could be coming that might frighten us, or make us laugh. This may be the scariest part of Sansone's book: We have three more years to find out. The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities. Ayn Rand
